Wake Forest Wide Receiver Sage Surratt
Sage Surratt is one of the best returning wide receivers in the ACC in 2020. Surratt is a key player in a high powered Wake Forest offense.
Surratt had 66 receptions for 1001 yards and 11 TDs in 2019. Surratt led the ACC averaging 111.2 receiving yards per game in 2019 before suffering a season-ending injury.
Surratt finished 2019 with 66 receptions for 1,001 yards and was third in the ACC with 11 receiving TDs. A first-team All-ACC performer in 2019, Surratt was also named third-team All-American by Athlon. Surratt considered entering the NFL Draft but chose to return for his redshirt junior season in 2020.
Surratt had five 100 yard receiving games in 2019 including four over 150 yards. Against Louisville, Surratt scorched the same Cardinals defense that Miami QB Jarren Williams threw six TD passes against, for 12 receptions 196 yards and three TDs. Wake Forest finished with the second-best passing offense in the ACC.
The Demon Deacons averaged 288.30 passing yards per game to the Tigers 288.33. Wake Forest lost 2019 starting QB Jamie Newman who transferred to Georgia. Sam Hartman returns for Wake Forest after Newman replaced him in 2019 because of an injury. Surratt and the Wake passing offense will be a big test for Miami in 2020.
