The Miami football team will open the season on Thursday night September 10, a week earlier than they were originally scheduled against UAB, host Florida State September 26 and are at Clemson October 10 as part of the ACC’s release of the 2020 schedule.

The ACC released their football schedule on Thursday morning. Thursday night September 10, the Miami football team will open the 2020 season against UAB at Hard Rock Stadium. Other highlights on the Miami schedule are the ACC opener at Louisville September 19, Florida State September 26 and October 10 at Clemson.

Those are the first four games of the season. Miami will have the first of two bye weeks October 3. That is the week before the Hurricanes travel to Clemson. Miami will also have an October 31 bye week. On the fifth year anniversary of the Miracle in Durham game at Duke, the Hurricanes will not play.

Duke was the one ACC game eliminated for the 2020 season. The remainder of the 2020 Miami football schedule is October 17 at home against Pittsburgh, October 24 against Virginia, November 6 at North Carolina State, November 14 at Virginia Tech, November 21 at Georgia Tech, November 28 at Wake Forest, December 5 UNC.

The ACC Championship Game will be played either December 12 or 19 in Charlotte. The ACC is keeping both those dates open with the caution of one or both of the title game qualifiers having infected players with Covid-19. The two bye weeks in 2020 are built-in with the same idea.

Miami received a gift with a bye week the week before the Hurricanes play Clemson. Despite Miami’s problems the last few years with bye weeks that will give Miami a chance to get any injured or potentially sick players healthy.

The Miami schedule provides them a good chance for an outstanding season. Having the week off before Clemson followed by home games the two weeks after puts Miami in a good place. Finishing the season against North Carolina after playing them early in 2020 could set up a showdown to qualify for the ACC Championship game.
