The Miami football program is currently ranked eighth in the 2021 recruiting cycle to 11th for Florida. Miami football commit James Williams trolled the Gators on Friday stating he wants to see their 2021 class.

The Florida and Miami football programs have had a back and forth battle in the 2021 recruiting classes with Miami passing Florida with the commitment of five-star defensive tackle Leonard Taylor on Thursday afternoon to move from 11th to eighth in the class of 2021. The Gators fell to Miami’s previous spot with the reshuffling.

Athlete James Williams who is the other five-star commit in the Miami class of 2021 stated on twitter Friday in a battle over five-star recruit, cornerback Jason Marshall“I wasn’t to see Florida 2021 class.” A commitment from Marshall would vault Miami from eighth to fourth in the 2021 cycle.

Miami was last as high as the fourth-ranked recruiting class in 2008 when they signed the top class in the nation. Williams actively involved in recruiting other players should help continue the momentum Miami has built since March. Taylor and Williams’ commitments have been the pinnacle of the recruiting momentum.

The recruitment battle for five-star cornerbacks Jason Marshall from Miami Palmetto High School is fierce between Florida and Miami. Williams responded to a tweet from former Florida CB C.J. Henderson trying to recruit him to Florida asking to see Florida’s recruiting class. The Gators are now in the Hurricanes rearview mirror.

Williams took a video screen capture of the entire Miami 2021 recruiting class from the 247 Sports Miami website Inside the U. Miami is reportedly battling with Alabama for Marshall with Florida as the third favorite to receive a commitment. The Hurricanes are trying to sign all five elite players from Palmetto.

The commitment from Taylor on Thursday was the third for Miami from the Palmetto five. Four-star DT Savion Collins has been commited to the Hurricanes since September 2018 and three-star wide receiver Brashard Smith has been commited to Miami since last month. Marshall and Corey Collier haven’t commited yet.
