After losing out on five-star cornerback Jason Marshall to Florida, the Miami football program could turn their attention to four-star Markevious Brown.

Four-star cornerback Markevious Brown from IMG Academy in Bradenton could be the next cornerback the Miami football program turns their attention to after losing out on five-star CB Jason Marshall to Florida. Miami currently has commits from three-star CBs Tim Burns Jr and Malik Curtis.

Miami is six-deep at CB for at least the next two seasons with juniors Al Blades and D.J. Ivey and sophomores Te’Cory Couch and Christian Williams. Miami signed CBs, four-star Isaiah Dunson and three-star Marcus Clarke in the class of 2020. Blades and Ivey will have the option of entering the 2021 NFL Draft.

According to Andrew Ivins of Inside the U, Brown played behind LSU and Ohio State signees in 2019. In addition to Miami, Brown is considering Arkansas, Auburn, Mississippi and Virginia Tech. No crystal balls are currently entered for Brown nor has he set a date when he will commit. Ivins reported Brown could commit soon.

The commitments of Burns and Curtis give Miami eight CBs for the 2021 season. The Hurricanes can get by without another CB commited for 2021. If Burns and Curtis are the only commits at CB for Miami in 2021, expect them to load up on the position in 2020. Miami signed four safeties in 2020.

Four CBs signing with Miami in the class of 2022 if Burns and Curtis are the only 2021 signees would be very possible. The 2021 Miami recruiting class is currently ninth. James Williams who is the top-ranked player in Miami’s class and in Florida in 2021 plays safety in high school but is expected to switch to linebacker in college.

Miami also has a commitment from four-star safety Kam Kinchens for 2021. The Hurricanes are deep at safety for the next three to four seasons. Four-star 2020 safety signees Avantae Williams and Jalen Harrell teaming with Williams and Kinchens provide intrigue at the position for Miami in 2021 and beyond.
