The revised 2020 ACC schedule has created more urgency in several games for the Miami football team. Three games stand above the others the Hurricanes need to win to qualify for the ACC Championship game.

The Miami football team is competing with 14 teams for two spots in the ACC Championship game in 2020 compared to battling six other teams in a traditional season. The revised ACC schedule in 2020 and elimination of the ACC Atlantic and Coastal Divisions this fall has made getting to the conference title game tougher.

Miami has the added pressure of playing Clemson in 2020 while competing with the Tigers for a spot in the ACC Championship Game. Although Miami does not play Notre Dame in the revised ACC schedule, the Fighting Irish are playing an ACC schedule this season after they lost several games on their original slate.

Clemson has a virtual lock on a spot in the ACC Championship Game. The Tigers have won the last five ACC Championships. The expectation is that even with the conference dissolving divisions in 2020 the Tigers will win the regular-season ACC title. That leaves 14 ACC teams battling for the final spot in the Championship Game.

In the updated odds to win the ACC regular-season championship, Clemson is at -550, Notre Dame +700 and Miami +1000 to finish first. Three of the four teams with the longest shots to top the ACC are not on the Hurricanes revised schedule for 2020. Georgia Tech who is last is the only one of the bottom four Miami plays.

The Yellow Jackets are 15th and last in the ACC listed as +15000 as posted by 247Sports. Syracuse is 14th at +12500 and Duke and Boston College are at +10000.

Duke was taken off the Miami football schedule in 2020 and replaced by Clemson, Louisville and North Carolina State. Duke is a Coastal Rival in traditional seasons.
