At Louisville September 19

The revised ACC schedule puts the Miami football team in the rare position of playing an ACC Atlantic team other than Florida State two seasons in a row.

The Hurricanes crushed the Cardinals 52-27 at Hard Rock Stadium last November. In the second season under Scott Satterfield Louisville is expected to improve.

The Cardinals should be a team that competes for the second spot in the ACC Championship game assuming Clemson wins regular-season ACC Championship.

Louisville has explosive players on offense with quarterback Micale Cunningham, running back Javian Hawkins and wide receiver Tutu Atwell from Miami Northwestern.

Winning the games against the teams Miami is expected to contend with for a spot in the ACC Championship game is critical. The Hurricanes will travel to Louisville with confidence after last season’s dominant victory. Playing against the Cardinals on the road, the Miami football team cannot take Louisville lightly.

The game between Miami and Louisville should feature two of the most dynamic QBs in the ACC. Cunningham completed 62.4 percent of his passes for 2,061 yards, 22 touchdowns and five interceptions while running for another 482 yards and five TDs in 2019.

Cunningham and Atwell connected for an 80-yard TD in 2019 against Miami during an explosive first half that saw the Hurricanes take a 35-14 lead at the intermission. Former Miami QB Jarren Williams tied the ACC record with six TD passes. Hawkins contributed 91 yards rushing and Atwell had 142 receiving.
