The Miami football program appears to be locked in on flipping four-star quarterback Jake Garcia as their remaining sole signal-caller in the 2021 recruiting cycle.

After losing out on other quarterbacks in the class of 2021, the Miami football program appears to be locked in on four-star USC commit Jake Garcia. It appears to be Garcia or bust to sign a QB in the 2021 recruiting class. As of now, Garcia told Ari Wasserman of The Athletic that he is no longer considering Miami.

As with anything in recruiting Garcia could change his mind depending on other developments. Garcia transferred from his California home to Valdosta. Georgia for the 2020 Football season after the Golden State canceled the 2020 fall football season. The Garcia recruitment would make a great reality show.

The fact is as of now Garcia has repeatedly stated he is firm on his commitment to USC. The Trojans also have a commitment from 2021 four-star QB Miller Moss. Garcia has previously stated he was aware that USC wanted to take two QBs in the class of 2021. USC lost former starter J.T. Daniels as a transfer to Georgia in the offseason.

Steve Wiltfong, the Director Of Recruiting for 247Sports and one of the selectors for players in the All-American Bowl reported on Friday that Miami appears to be solely recruiting Garcia at QB in the Class of 2021. With an additional season awarded 2020 fall athletes by the NCAA Miami might not need a QB in the class of 2021.

"AUGUST 2020: IS ANOTHER FLIP ON THE HORIZON? “Another Top247 quarterback that keeps the line of communication open with other schools is long-time USC commit Jake Garcia. He’s been in the fold since September 2019 for Clay Helton and company but Miami lingers and the Hurricanes don’t appear to be pushing for anyone else at this point in the process.Garcia has said in interviews across the 247Sports platform he is strong to USC so we’ll see what happens moving forward for the California native playing his final prep season in the Peach State before enrolling early.”"

Graduate transfer D’Eriq King could play two seasons for the Miami football program instead of solely 2020 and redshirt juniors, N’Kosi Perry and Tate Martell have had their eligibility extended through 2022. Miami could choose to sign another graduate transfer at QB in 2021 if King decides to enter the NFL Draft.

Next. Four-star QB Jake Garcia no longer considering Miami. dark

The report from Wilftong seems to indicate Miami is no longer recruiting baseball and football prospect, Jay Allen who is commited to play baseball at Florida and wants to play both sports in college. The Gators have two QBs commited to their 2021 class, so Miami would seem like a better fit at this point.
