The best and worst-case scenarios for the 11 game 2020 Miami football were examined by 247Sports on Saturday.

The 2020 Miami football schedule is more challenging than originally planned with an increase from eight to 10 ACC games and the addition of a game at Clemson. The Hurricanes lost Duke from the 2020 schedule and have had games at Louisville and North Carolina State added. Georgia Tech and Virginia are now at home.

Miami was originally scheduled to play in Atlanta and Charlottesville before the ACC moved those games to Hard Rock Stadium. There has been no indication of how that will affect the Miami football schedule in the future. Miami will host UAB in the Hurricanes lone non-conference game of 2020.

The projections for each ACC team by Brad Crawford of 247 Sports are a realistic outlook of what the expected best and worst case scenarios can be in 2020. As previously mentioned Miami will host UAB, Georgia Tech and Virginia in 2020. Florida State, Pittsburgh and North Carolina also play at Hard Rock Stadium.

In addition to the games at Clemson, Louisville and North Carolina State, Miami also plays at Wake Forest and Virginia Tech. The game at Clemson is rightfully projected to be a loss. The key games for Miami to reach or exceed the best case 9-2 per Crawford are FSU, Louisville, UNC and Virginia Tech.

"MIAMI HURRICANESBest-case scenario: 9-2 — Winning at Clemson this season for any team in the ACC seems improbable, but the Hurricanes have to like their chances against the rest of the ACC. Keep an eye on Louisville, Florida State, Virginia Tech and North Carolina. Those are season-defining for Manny Diaz’s squad.Worst-case: 5-6 — It would take a collapse for the Hurricanes to flounder like this, but the first two games against ACC competition are crucial. Should Miami fall at Louisville and Florida State at home, the Hurricanes would be 1-2 overall heading into the open week prior to Clemson with no wind at their backs."

Miami enters the 2020 season with a three game winning streak against Florida State, crushed Louisville 52-27 last season, lost a tight game in Chapel Hill in 2019 and won their last trip to Blackburg in 2018. Manny Diaz should be able to instill confidence in the Miami football team for what could be season deciding games.

The ACC eliminated the Atlantic and Coastal Divisions for the 2020 season. Miami, North Carolina and Virginia Tech were the projected favorites in the Coastal Divison. The Hurricanes, Tar Heels and Hokies could be competition with Notre Dame for what will likely be the second team in the ACC Championship game.

Clemson has won the last five ACC Football Championships and is a prohibitive favorite to reach the title game for the sixth straight season. As Miami gets ready to kickoff the 2020 College Football season in less than two weeks, the Hurricanes goals for the season from Crawford are reachable and reasonable.
