ESPN projects Miami Hurricanes QB D’Eriq King top 15 exciting CFB players
Miami Hurricanes graduate transfer quarterback D’Eriq King has been named the sixth most exciting player in college football.
The addition of quarterback D’Eriq King to the Miami Hurricanes roster will add a lot of excitement on and off the field during the 2020 season. King was electrifying in his last full season at Houston in 2018. King has been named as the sixth most exciting player in college football entering the 2020 season by ESPN.
King threw for 4,925 yards, 50 touchdowns and 10 interceptions while starting 18 games at QB over three seasons with Houston. A dynamic dual-threat QB, King also ran for 1,421 yards and 28 TDs with the Cougars. King has an active NCAA record setting streak with rushing and passing TDs in 15 straight games.
King is an exceptional athlete who had 59 receptions for 504 yards with three TDs early in his career and 283 returns yards including a 100-yard kickoff return for a TD as a freshman in 2016. King could become the most exciting QB in Miami history. At the very least King will stablize QB for Miami in 2020.
In the new up-tempo, power spread offense being installed by new offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee, King should be the perfect talent as a dual threat QB. On the big stage of the ACC in 2020, King can become superstar in college football. The game at Clemson October 10 should be one the most inrtuiging of the 2020 season.

The expectation he will put up those numbers for Miami are a lot to ask, but King can become a record setting QB for Miami. The season rushing record by a QB seems inevitable and some passing records should be challenged.

The Lashlee offense has worked well at Auburn, Arkansas State, UConn and SMU. The numbers put up by the QBs under Lashlee have been exceptional. King should be the best QB Lashlee has had as an offensive coordinator. The potential for the Miami offense and King in 2020 should produce a lot of excitement.
