Florida State September 26

The 2020 ACC home opener is the game fans look forward to on the Miami football schedule annually. With a game at Clemson two weeks later that might not be the case in 2020.

Miami has flipped the rivalry with Florida State after ending a seven-game losing streak in 2017. The Hurricanes have now won three in a row.

Miami blitzed Florida State for nine sacks and a pair of long TDs to the departed Jeff Thomas and junior Dee Wiggins led the Hurricanes to a 27-10 victory and third win in a row over Florida State in 2019.

The 2020 game will provide a lot of changes as has become customary over the last three years between the Hurricanes and Seminoles. The Miami football program brought in big names in the transfer portal in 2020 and multiple changes on the offensive coaching staff.

Florida State has an entirely new coaching staff led by head coach Mike Norvell. Norvell was 38-16 at Memphis but has had a provocative offseason ahead of his inaugural Florida State campaign.

At Clemson October 10

After a week off Miami travels to Clemson for the marque game on their 2020 schedule. The game against the five-time defending ACC Championship was added to the rebuild schedule for 2020. The Hurricanes offense has only three games to be ready for the preeminent program in college football.

The Miami defense will have a huge test against QB Trevor Lawrence and RB Travis Etienne. The matchup to watch will be the talent pass-rushing tandem of Quincy Roche and Jaelan Phillips for Miami against Lawrence. If Miami can get constant pressure on Lawrence and make him turn the ball over Miami can pull the upset.
