At North Carolina State November 6

North Carolina State is the third and final game added to the Miami football schedule in 2020. The Wolfpack finished 4-8 in 2019 to miss a bowl game for the first time since 2013.

Entering 2020, NC State was picked to finish 11th in the 15 team ACC. Punter Trenton Gill was selected first-team preseason All-ACC.

Playing a conference game on the road is always difficult but Miami should defeat North Carolina State. By the time we get to November, Wolfpack head coach Dave Doeren could have his job in jeopardy. Miami will hopefully be in contention for one of the two sports in the ACC Championship game and needs to be focused.

At Virginia Tech November 14

Virginia Tech has been Miami’s biggest conference rival for 30 seasons. Battling in the Big East and ACC the Hurricanes and Hokies have staged epic battles. The road team has won each of the last two seasons. Miami overcame a 28-0 deficit in 2019 to tie the game, but a last-minute Virginia Tech TD won it for the Hokies.

Virginia Tech returns dual-threat QB Hendon Hooker who Miami had trouble containing last season in his first college start. The Hokies were chosen to finish fifth in the ACC on spot ahead of Miami. Linebacker Rayshard Ashby was the lone Virginia Tech player chosen to the All-ACC preseason first team.
