Five questions for Miami Football game with FS Louisville Site
1) Louisville has a very explosive offense. What will they do to challenge an aggressive Miami defense?
We saw last year that while Miami was able to push the score way ahead, they weren’t able to contain the big-play ability of Louisville’s offense.
The Cards outgained Miami 496 to 449 and got big plays from nearly everyone on the roster, including Javian Hawkins and Tutu Atwell.
Louisville showed against WKU that they can spread the ball around and get everyone involved and I’m not sure how many defenses are going to be able to cover those guys mentioned plus Dez Fitzpatrick, Marshon Ford, Hassan Hall, and Braden Smith.
2) The Miami football team blitzed Louisville for 52 points and six TD passes. The Louisville defense was greatly improved last week against Western Kentucky. What did Louisville do differently defensively and are you confident they can stop Miami?
The biggest difference 100 percent is the comfortability of the players in the system. Last year Louisville’s defense learned their fourth new scheme in four years (they went through four DC’s in four seasons) and one that was COMPLETELY different than what they did with the other coordinators.
While the offseason was unconventional, you could see that the time spent in meetings watching last year’s film (including Miami) was why Louisville looked so good. Players understand the system and what they need to do fully and can play fast rather than thinking first.
