Miami Hurricanes football fans are starting to get really excited again. After walking into Louisville as underdogs they came out with nothing short of a dominating victory. Miami Football is fun again.

The 47-34 victory by the Miami football team over Louisville on Saturday didn’t truly reflect the outcome of the game except Miami was in complete control almost from the very start. The officiating left a lot to be desired as Miami was being held all game long and the flags were few and far between.

What’s always somewhat frustrating is after these big wins people start looking too far into the future. The players are all coached well enough to know not to look behind your very next game. Your next game is Florida State which is a huge rivalry and not a game Miami should just take for granted.

It’s highly expected that Miami will defeat Florida State as it certainly seems they are the better team. In sports, anything could happen on any given Saturday. Miami needs to put its foot on the pedal from the opening play and not take it off the entire night.

This will be two consecutive weeks of prime time exposure for the football program and two consecutive ESPN College GameDay shows where Miami is being featured.

If this Is not an opportunity to take potential recruits trying to decide where they want to go to school and tilt that decision process towards Coral Gables as the best option then I don’t know what it is?

What we’re currently seeing now is the new Miami we all thought we would see last season. While everyone is focused on a new quarterback and a kicking game that is dramatically improved there is no way to underestimate the presence of having someone who is so incredibly skilled as Ed Reed is being a part of this program.

Over the years the alumni always made Miami different from other schools. Because Miami had an incredibly talented group of alumni, many of whom proved to be highly successful in the NFL that would come back and work with the current players. To see this happening again very likely will be what will be the difference.

Every year fans say it’s going to be different, but this year truly does feel different. That does not mean fans should get ahead of themselves and start wondering how scenarios might play out, should Miami beat Clemson or any other team for that matter. Miami needs to just go out there game after game and do their thing.

One snap at a time and with this new offense pedal to the metal from the first snap to the very last snap. As a true fan and always being optimistic while rooting for my team regardless of the outcome of any one particular game or season. It’s great to admit how biased fans can be and I’m as biased as they come as are many others.

That does not mean we should get ahead of ourselves and start wondering how scenarios might play out should we beat Clemson or any other team for that matter. Let’s just go out there game after game and do our thing. One word at a time and with this new offense pedal to the metal from the first snapped to the very last snap.

What the Miami football teams is showing us for the first time in a few years is just how much fun these games are for the fans and the players. Now let’s hope this translates into more wins and swings some talented recruits to come on board and join us for the party. #GoCanes
