The Miami football team scored on all six possessions in the first half using a dominant first half in a 45-10 victory over Florida State Saturday night.

D’Eriq King led the Rhett Lashlee offense to another dominant offensive performance as the Miami football team was never threatened by Florida State in a 45-10 victory. Miami scored on all six drives in the first half to take a 38-3 lead after halftime. The Hurricanes gained 371 yards in the first half.

King had his most complete game against the Seminoles. The graduate transfer from Houston was 29/40 for 267 yards and two touchdowns and added eight carries for 65 yards. Miami had a 517-330 advantage in yards, forced three Florida State turnovers and took advantage of 12 Seminoles penalties for 113 yards.

Miami opened the scoring with a 13 play, 75-yard scoring drive capped off by a 24-yard pass from King to Brevin Jordan. Jordan had five receptions for 41 yards and a TD after seven for 120 receiving yards last week and a receiving TD for the third consecutive game. Florida State answered with a drive that resulted in a field goal.

That was the Seminoles’ only points of the first half. The Hurricanes scored on their next five drive of the first half. The first five drives of the first half for Miami resulted in TDs. Cam Harris had TD runs on the following two drives, King threw to Dee Wiggins for 40 yds for a TD and freshman Don Chaney Jr added his first career TD.

Jose Borregales added a 38-yard field goal with one second left in the first half to cap the scoring. Florida State was able to slow down the Miami offense in the scoring half. Miami still had two scoring drives in the second half to set the record for most points by either team in the rivalry with Florida State.

N’Kosi Perry entered the game in the fourth quarter and led another scoring drive capped by a seven-yard TD pass to true freshman Michael Redding who earned the first score of his collegiate career. Redding finished with two receptions for 13 yards and a TD. The 2020 Miami offense is playing with a lot of confidence.
