Jon Weiner better known as Stugotz on the Dan LeBatard Show was the celebrity guest picker for the Miami Hurricanes on ESPN College Gameday.

Stugotz from the Dan LeBatard Show on ESPN was the celebrity guest picker on ESPN College Gameday via remote on Saturday morning. Stugotz is not a Miami Hurricanes alum but has been a longtime Miami talk show host and sidekick for one of Miami’s most iconic alums. The LeBatard show is an anchor for ESPN.

The LeBatard podcast is the most downloaded throughout the ESPN platform. Stugotz is often mocked in fun on the show. The first two weeks Oklahoma City point guard Chris Paul was the celebrity guest picker with Gameday live from Winston-Salem, NC for Clemson-Wake Forest. Bill Murray was the celebrity live from Louisville.

Murray’s son Luke is an assistant basketball coach under Chris Mack on the Louisville basketball team. Stugotz should have more success than Murray and Paul did. Murray went on a rant in an attempt at satire. Strogatz should be tuned into college football teams as a professional sports broadcaster.

As a Miami based broadcaster, Stogotz was loyal to the Hurricanes. The 0-1 start by Florida State and looking bad defensively influenced the ESPN analysts and Stugotz choosing Miami unanimously to win. All of the ESPN analysts plus Stogotz expect the Hurricanes to roll the Seminoles.

"“I’m going to go Canes here…I am in the city of Miami I am not picking against the Canes. I think the Canes are a much-improved team and they roll, they roll tonight against a very bad Florida State team."

Florida State does not have the offensive firepower to stay with Miami if the game becomes high scoring. The best chance for the Seminoles is to keep the game close and low scoring. At the end of the show, the turnover chains were brought out. FSU needs to keep the appearances of the turnover chain to a minimum or zero.

Stugotz’s appearance came after ESPN baseball analyst Alex Rodriguez whose name is on the Miami baseball stadium was the celebrity guest picker in 2017 when Miami crushed Notre Dame 41-8. That was the last time Miami hosted ESPN Gameday and the ABC Saturday night Game of the Week.
