Miami Hurricanes D’Eriq King ACC top ACC QB for second straight week
Miami Hurricanes quarterback D’Eriq King was named the top quarterback in the ACC for the second consecutive week.
Following another explosive performance by the Miami Hurricanes offense, D’Eriq King was honored as the top quarterback in the ACC for the second consecutive week. King completed 29 passes in 40 attempts for 267 yards and two touchdowns and ran eight times for 65 yards in a 52-10 victory over Florida State.
King accomplished his numbers without throwing a pass in the fourth quarter and only playing one play in the final 15 minutes. The Miami Hurricanes exploded for 38 points in the first half led by King. The Hurricanes took a 38-3 lead at halftime. King and the Miami offense scored TDs on their first five possession of the first half.
Miami had to settle for a field goal on the final drive of the first half after they ran out of time. King has quickly adapted to playing QB in the ACC. After appearing on the ABC Primetime Game of the Week in his first two conference games, King will play in the biggest game of his career October 10 at Clemson.
Miami will play in the premier college football game of the week in its third consecutive game. King and the Miami offense scored 99 points in the last two weeks on national television. Clemson will be a major step up for King and the Miami offense to prove they are as elite as they have played through the first three games of 2020.

The ACC acknowledged the accomplishments that King produced for Miami against Florida State and during the 2020 season. Eleven different Miami receivers caught passes against Florida State. Keeping the offense diverse against Clemson will be critical for Miami to have a chance to pull the big upset.
Miami and Clemson will feature the top two QBs in the ACC in 2020. Trevor Lawrence of Clemson leads the ACC with a 234.59 passer rating. King is second at 153.85. King is third in the ACC in total offense averaging 297.7 yards per game. Behind King and offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee the offense has evolved quickly.
