ESPN top College Football analyst Kirk Herbstreit who has announced the last two Miami football games ranked the Hurricanes fourth in his weekly rankings.

The Miami football team was ranked fourth by Kirk Herbstreit the top college football analyst for ABC and ESPN. Herbstreit announced the Hurricanes last two games. Miami had impressive victories over Louisville and Florida State. The Hurricanes won 47-34 at Louisville last Saturday and 52-10 over Florida State on Saturday.

Herbstreit stated the Miami offense is for real after seeing the Hurricanes score 99 points the last two weeks. The rankings are only teams that are currently playing. That eliminates the Big 10 and Pac 12 for another month. Joining Miami in the top four are Clemson, Alabama and Florida. Georgia and Mississippi State were next.

Herbstreit has been impressed with the way Miami has operated the Rhett Lashlee offense this season. D’Eriq King has been everything the Hurricanes expected and maybe more. Pro Football Focus ranks King as the seventh-best QB this season and he has the 22nd best QB rating in 2020.

Miami will make its third consecutive appearance on the ABC Saturday Primetime Game of the Week October 10 against Clemson. The Hurricanes had two appearances combined in the marquee college football game of the week the last two seasons combined. Lashlee’s impact as been grand.

"“I think this is a good football team, I think it’s real…We’ve seen Rhett Lashlee work his magic in the past at other places. The offense with Lashlee, the skill, D’Eriq King, it’s a confident bunch.I’m already thinking about them going up to Death Valley to play Clemson because that’s when you really find out in two weeks how good this Miami team really is.”"

The comments from Herbstreit came during the telecast of the blowout victory over Florida State on Saturday. A 38-3 Hurricanes halftime lead over the Seminoles gave Herbstreit and play-by-play broadcaster Chris Fowler about 90 minutes to discuss the improvement in Miami and the collapse of the FSU football programs.

Herbstreit will announce the biggest test for the Miami football program since the Hurricanes lost 38-3 to Clemson in the 2017 ACC Championship game. That was two offensive coordinators and almost two entire offensive staffs ago. There is not a better gauge for where your program is at in college football than playing Clemson.
