The Miami football team hopes to make amends for a 42-17 loss at Clemson on Saturday when they host Pittsburgh this week.

The Miami football team returns home to host Pittsburgh on Saturday following a 42-17 loss at Clemson last Saturday. Miami still has all of their goals in front of them following the loss. The Hurricanes still have the opportunity to earn a spot in the ACC Championship game. That run begins with Pittsburgh Saturday.

Miami is 3-1 following the loss to Clemson. Pittsburgh enters Saturday’s game 3-2 with losses to North Carolina State and at Boston College the last two weeks. Pittsburgh brings one of the best defenses in college football to Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday. The Panthers are sixth nationally in total defense and first in sacks.

The Miami offensive line is going to have to revert to the success they had in the first three games, instead of the dominance by the Clemson defensive line. Pittsburgh is averaging five sacks per game this season. Duke who was taken off the 2020 Miami football schedule is second nationally with 3.6 sacks per game.

Miami is 42nd nationally in sacks allowed after allowing five to Clemson. The Hurricanes allowed just three in their season-opening wins over UAB, Louisville and Florida State. After appearing in the national spotlight against the Cardinals, Seminoles and Tigers Miami returns to more anonymity against Pittsburgh.

Miami was the ESPN College Gameday and ABC Primetime Game of the Week in their last three games. The Hurricanes and Panthers will kick off at noon on Saturday on the ACC Network. Saturday will be the fourth-noon kickoff of the season for Pittsburgh. The Panthers’ other two games were 4:00 PM kickoff times.
