The Miami football team continued to list all nine scholarship wide receivers equally on the depth chart for Friday’s game against North Carolina State that was released Monday.

The Miami football team listed all nine scholarship wide receivers as equally on the depth chart for their game Friday night at North Carolina State two weeks after doing the same ahead of their 19-14 win against Virginia. The move is slightly surprising. Senior Mike Harley had career highs with 10 receptions for 170 yards versus Virginia.

Following his performance against Virginia, Harley has become the leading receiver for Miami this season with 27 receptions for 344 yards and is third with two touchdowns receptions. Harley will certainly start on Friday night in Raleigh.  Four other Miami WRs combined for eight receptions for 85 yards.

Mark Pope and Dee Wiggins each had three receptions for 48 and 36 yards against Virginia. Former walkon Marshall Few and Jeremiah Payton each had one catch for six and five yards versus the Cavaliers. Pope is second among the Miami WRs with 18 receptions for 233 yards without a TD.

Wiggins has 12 receptions for 154 yards and one TD. No other Miami WR has more than two receptions this season. Miami has utilized their tight ends and running backs this season extensively in their pass offense. The Hurricanes are expected to get junior TE Brevin Jordan back against North Carolina State.

Jordan missed the last two games with a shoulder injury. Jordan was leading Miami in receiving before suffering the shoulder injury against Clemson. In four games this season, Jordan is second behind Harley on the Hurricanes with 18 receptions for 243 yards and still leads Miami with three TD receptions.

Running backs Cam’Ron Harris and Jaylan Knighton each have 11 receptions this season and one TD. Knighton had an electrifying 75-yard TD reception in the Hurricanes 47-34 victory at Louisville. The Hurricanes need their WRs to step up and contribute more in the passing game. Harley was a big start against Virginia.
