The ACC announced on Monday that the November 21 Georgia Tech at Miami football game will kick off at 8 PM on the ACC Network.

The Miami football team will return home November 21 to host Georgia Tech with an 8 PM kickoff on the ACC Network as announced by the conference on Monday. Miami plays at Virginia Tech Saturday with a noon kickoff on ESPN2. Miami has lost two straight to Georgia Tech.

The Hurricanes enter their game against Virginia Tech 6-1 overall and 5-1 in the ACC. Georgia Tech is 2-5 overall, 2-4 in the ACC. The Yellow Jackets host Pittsburgh on Saturday. Georgia Tech has wins this season over Florida State and Louisville. The Hurricanes defeated the Seminoles and Cardinals in their first two ACC games.

The other common opponent for Miami and Georgia Tech was Clemson. The Hurricanes lost 42-17 to the Tigers last month. A week later Clemson won 73-7 at Georgia Tech. Georgia Tech defeated Miami 28-21 at Hard Rock Stadium last season and 27-21 in Atlanta in 2018. The quirk in the 2020 schedule has the game in Miami.

Georgia Tech is in the middle of a rebuild in their second year under head coach Geoff Collins. Collins had to transition the Yellow Jackets from the antiquated triple option that former Georgia Tech head coach Paul Johnson ran. Collins was hired by Georgia Tech from Temple and almost succeeded by Miami head coach Manny Diaz.

Diaz was the Owls head coach for 18 days before returning to Miami to succeed Mark Richt in December 2018. The Miami loss to Georgia Tech last season was one of the worst for the Hurricanes in a season full of them. Georgia Tech entered the 2019 game with Miami 1-5 and finished the season 3-9.

Miami has won all the games they are expected to this season with the sole loss at Clemson. The Hurricanes need to win out and hope Notre Dame loses once to have a chance at an ACC Co-Championship with the Fighting Irish and Tigers. In that scenario, Clemson and Notre Dame would play in the ACC Championship Game.
