Miami football recruiting target four-star cornerback Markevious Brown could be close to making his collegiate destination known after he tweeted asking for edits on Wednesday.

Four-star cornerback Markevious Brown who is high on the Miami football list for 2021 could be close to making a decision after he asked Who does the hardest commitment edits”  in a Tweet posted Wednesday. Brown is the 336th ranked player overall, 28th ranked CB and 53rd ranked player in Florida in 2020.

Brown plays at IMG Academy in Bradenton. The ranking for Brown is from the 247 Sports composite. Brown is also highly interested in Arkansas, Auburn, Mississippi and Virginia Tech according to 247 and Rivals.Com. Brown also has offers from schools including, Alabama, Florida and Florida State according to ESPN.

Miami has only three-star athlete Malik Curtis committed to its 2021 recruiting class who is projected to play CB. The Hurricanes have only five CBs on the 2020 roster. Starters, junior D.J. Ivey and sophomore Te’Cory Couch, second-team CB Al Blades Jr. and freshmen Isaiah Dunson and Marcus Clarke.

Miami is extremely thin at the position. In the age of COVID-19 losses for nearly every team in college football, the Hurricanes probably need to add two more CBs for 2021. Miami could sign two CBS in the 2021 recruiting class or seek to add a CB through the transfer portal. Jhavonte Dean was Miami’s last transfer CB.

Dean was a junior college transfer to Miami in 2017 who played with the Hurricanes for two seasons. In two seasons with Miami, Dean had 28 tackles and two interceptions. Miami added Dee Delaney in 2017 as a graduate transfer from FCS the Citadel. In one season, Delaney had 39 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and one INT.

Next. Miami could targets Alabama transfer edge rusher Kevin Harris. dark

If Brown commits elsewhere, Miami has other options. Three-star CB Marvin Covington from Mansfield, Texas appears to be the only CB Miami is recruiting who is currently uncommitted. There are several CBs Miami is still recruiting that are committed to other programs and trying to flip.
