The North Carolina Miami football game had two ESPN College Gameday experts each pick the Tar Heels and Hurricanes.

Miami will be the featured game for ABC on Saturday with the lead broadcast team Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit announcing the game. Herbstreit did not pick the Miami game because he is announcing it.

The other three Gameday analysts, Lee Corso, Desmond Howard and David Pollack made their predictions with former United States Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice as the celebrity guest prognosticator with the show live from West Point, New York for the Army-Navy game.

The Miami football game against North Carolina is the biggest for the Hurricanes since they played in the 2017 Orange Bowl. The loss to Clemson earlier this season was a nationally televised game in primetime but did not have as much on the line as they will be on Saturday afternoon at Hard Rock Stadium.

The winner of Saturday’s game between the Hurricanes and Tar Heels will almost definitely earn a berth in a New Year’s Six bowl game. The outcome of the ACC Championship game will dictate which game.

The highest-ranked ACC team not in the College Football Playoff earns a berth in the Orange Bowl. If Clemson defeats Notre Dame in the ACC Championship Game next Saturday the Tigers and Fighting Irish will almost definitely both earn a place in the College Football Playoff. Clemson is likely eliminated with a loss.

If Clemson is in the CFP the winner of Miami against North Carolina will likely play in the Orange Bowl. If the Tigers lose to the Fighting Irish they will likely play in the Orange Bowl. The Miami North Carolina winner would likely play in the Cotton, Fiesta or Peach Bowl in that scenario.

Condoleeza Rice– Miami is the best team in the ACC not named Notre Dame or Clemson. They will try to make a statement. I like Miami.

David Pollack– UNC. Their offense has more guys that can hurt you. King has to be the guy. 45-40 something type game.

Lee Corso– North Carolina outscores Miami 43-41 in an upset

North Carolina is the last regular-season game for Miami after next week’s contest against Georgia Tech was canceled this week. The cancelation against the Yellow Jackets might be beneficial for Miami. The Hurricanes staff can focus on Early National Signing Day Wednesday and begin to get ready for the bowl game.
