Miami Basketball hosts North Carolina: Game 9 and broadcast information
The Miami basketball team will host North Carolina Tuesday night hoping not to fall to under 500 for the first time this season.
Coming off their second straight heartbreaking loss the Miami basketball team hosts North Carolina Tuesday night. The Hurricanes lost 80-78 at Virginia Tech a week ago and 66-65 against Clemson on Saturday. Miami continues to be hindered by injuries with senior point guard Chris Lykes continuing to be out.
The Miami basketball team enters their game with North Carolina on Tuesday night seeking its first ACC victory of the season. Miami is 4-4 overall and 0-3 in the ACC. Without Lykes and just getting senior guard Kam McGusty back on Saturday, Miami has quickly sunk to the bottom of the ACC standings.
Boston College and Notre Dame are the only other ACC teams to have started 0-3. The Hurricanes 4-4 overall record is only better than the 3-6 Fighting Irish and 2-7 Eagles. Miami has yet to have a full roster this season. The Hurricanes will also be without center Rodney Miller and forward Sam Waardenburg for the season.
North Carolina has started the 2020-21 season 6-4 overall and 1-2 in the ACC. The Tar Heels won by the same 66-65 margin over Notre Dame on Saturday. North Carolina lost four of their previous five games before the victory over the Fighting Irish. Texas, Iowa, North Carolina State and Georgia Tech are the four UNC losses.

Sophomore guard Isaiah Wong leads Miami with 17.9 points per game, 5.9 rebounds and 2.0 assists. North Carolina will have a huge advantage in height with five players at least 6’10. The Tar Heels are led by 6’10 forward Armando Bacot who is averaging 11.4 PPG and 8.2 RPG. Miami has two healthy players 6’10 or taller.

Eight of the first nine Miami games are at home this season culminating with North Carolina. The Hurricanes play five of their next seven on the road. Miami will begin their difficult stretch at North Carolina State on Saturday. The Wolfpack has started the season 6-1 and will play Clemson on Tuesday night.
