Football Bowl Subdivision CB Dee Delaney transferred to Miami from The Citadel for the 2017 season. Delaney was not rated coming out of high school in Seabrook, South Carolina in 2013.

The two-time FCS All-American transferred to Miami to improve his NFL Draft stock. Delaney had 39 tackles and 1.5 TFLs for Miami in 2017.

Miami added the second-best junior college CB for the 2017 season, Jhavonte Dean in addition to Delaney. Dean graded out at .8966 to return home from Blinn Junior College in Texas. Dean is a South Dade High School alum. In two seasons with Miami, Dean had 28 tackles, three interceptions and two pass breakups.

Dean was a part of a Miami defense that led the country in pass defense in 2018. Miami allowed a paltry 135.6 yards per game. The Hurricanes allowed more than 12 yards less than Michigan who was second. The previous highest-ranked DB Miami signed as a transfer prior to Stevenson was safety Bubba Bolden in 2019.
