AJ Duffy | QB | IMG Academy (Fla.)

Duffy is a more traditional pro-style, drop-back passer compared to Brown. Originally from California, Duffy seems to be likely headed back to the West Coast for college.

The Crystal Balls are 86 percent projecting Duffy to Arizona State and 14 percent to Oregon. Miami has had success in the past with QBs from the West Coast.

Garcia is the latest California native to sign with the Miami football program. In the past, National Championship-winning QBs Gino Torretta and Ken Dorsey and Miami all-time leading passer Brad Kaaya are among the Hurricanes QBs to matriculate in Coral Gables from the Golden State. That can be a selling point for Miami.

Duffy transferred from Rancho Verde in the Inland Empire East of Los Angeles where his father Pete was his high school coach to IMG to receive daily training. The uncertainty about California having a high school football season also played a major factor in Duffy choosing to matriculate at IMG.

Garcia played high school football in Georgia last fall after California did not have a 2020 football season. Following the Georgia High School football season and a December graduation, Garcia enrolled at Miami in January. Duffy will reportedly make his college commitment on March 31.
