The Miami basketball team will host Florida State on Wednesday night with only six healthy scholarship players. Florida State leads the Atlantic Coast Conference with a 13-3 overall record and 9-2 in the conference. Miami is 7-13 overall and 14th out of 15 teams in the ACC with a 3-12 conference record.

The Miami basketball team hosts the Seminoles with losses in seven of their last eight games. Miami is coming off its worst loss of the season, 87-60 at home against Georgia Tech on Saturday. The Hurricanes 81-65 at Florida State four weeks ago. The Seminoles are coming off of a 79-72 win at Pittsburgh on Saturday.

Miami was never in the game against Georgia Tech. The Hurricanes fell behind 12-0 early and trailed 48-18 at halftime against the Yellow Jackets. Isaiah Wong is expected to return for Miami after missing the second half with a sprained ankle against Georgia Tech. Playing a deep Seminoles deep is a difficult task.

Nine Florida State players average at least 13.7 minutes per game. Florida State is led by senior guard M.J. Walker who averages 13.1 points per game. With five Seminoles averaging at least nine PPG, Florida State is difficult to defend. That compares to Miami who is not likely to use more than a seven-man rotation.

Walk-on guard Willie Herenton played 19 minutes against Georgia Tech with Wong out of the second half. Herenton will still likely receive significant minutes against Florida State with guard Harlond Beverly out for the second straight game with a back injury. Miami is down to three healthy scholarship guards.

If Miami is going to have a chance against Florida State, Wong will likely have to have a big game. Wong scored 30 in a Miami victory over Louisville last month. In addition to missing Beverly, Miami revealed last week that they will be without freshman Earl Timberlake for the rest of the season and senior guard Chris Lykes likely will too.
