Diaz re-hired Simpson entering his third season as head coach in 2021.

In addition to losing Ford following the 2021 season, Miami could also lose DT Nesta Silvera who is NFL Draft eligible.

Redshirt freshman Jared Harrison-Hunte is entering his third season with the Miami football program is on the verge of stardom and will also be eligible for the 2022 NFL Draft. Miami has depth behind Ford, Harrison-Hunte and Silvera. The Hurricanes return Jordan Miller and Jalar Holley.

Miami signed five-star DT Leonard Taylor and three-star Allan Haye in the Class of 2021. Taylor will likely challenge to become a major part of the rotation on the defensive interior as a freshman. Hill would be a great addition to what Diaz is building to become one of the best rotations at DT in college football.
