Miami football trending for four-star QB Jacurri Brown

The Miami football program picked up a pair of crystal balls from 247 Sports for four-star quarterback Jacurri Brown on Friday. Steve Wiltfong, The Director Of Recruiting for 247Sports switched his crystal ball from Florida to Miami for Brown on Friday. Florida writer Blake Alderman and Inside the U also project Brown to Miami.

Miami will lose QB D’Eriq King after the 2021 season. The Hurricanes expect to have freshman Peyton Matocha, redshirt freshman Tyler Van Dyke and 2021 signee Jake Garcia compete to be the starter for Miami at QB in 2022. Gaby Urrutia of Inside the U was the first recruiting analyst tolog a Crystal Ball for Brown.

Florida is still strongly in the mix for Brown with Arizona State, Auburn and Texas A&M also the programs figuring most prominantly in his recruitment. Brown is a unique QB at 6’4 205 pounds. The ranking for Brown in the class of 2022 is 167th overall, the fifth ranked dual threat QB and 20th ranked player in Georgia.

Brown

needs to work on his accuracy and has not been a prolific passer for Lowndes High School in Valdosta Georgia. Brown has completed 52.8 percent of his passes for 3,387 yards, 28 touchdowns and 14 interceptions in 40 games. An elite runner, Brown has run for 3,323 yards, 44 TDs and has 14 100-yard games.

One fact that could work in the favor of the Miami football program signing Brown is the Hurricanes signed his high school teammate, edge rusher Thomas Davis in the Class of 2021. Miami has been successful recruiting in Georgia recently. In addition to Davis, Miami signed Garcia from Georgia in 2021.

Garcia played his senior season in the Peach State after transfering in from California following the cancelation of their season. Miami has also signed defensive tackle Jalar Holley and running back DeeJay Dallas recently from Georgia. Some analysys project Brown could announce his college commitment soon.
