The addition of wide receiver Charleston Rambo to the Miami Hurricanes will help upgrade the position in 2021. Speaking on Hurricane Hotline earlier this month, 2020 Miami leading receiver Mike Harley praised Rambo as a big addition. Rambo provides the Hurricanes with a big-play receiver with speed.

Harley and Rambo are expected to start at WR in 2021 with 2021 starters Mark Pope and Dee Wiggins competing to be the third starter. According to Harley, he has known Rambo since high school. Rambo should help raise the level of the Miami receivers in 2021 after inconsistency beyond Harley in 2020.

Rambo had 76 receptions for 1,180 yards and nine touchdowns in three seasons with Oklahoma. Harley set career highs in 2020 with 57 receptions for 799 yards, a 14.0 yard per catch average and seven touchdowns. Miami needs more production from the remainder of their WRs in 2021.

Miami is deep at WR with Harley and Rambo at the top. if Pope and Wiggins do not develop as expected in 2021, the Hurricanes have a talented group of returnees and 2021 signees that would be given opportunities. Rambo should thrive in the Rhett Lashlee offense for the Miami Hurricanes.

"“Charleston Rambo, he’s a cool guy…We’ve spoke a couple times. I knew him in high school because he went to a private school in Texas. He was at Oklahoma and was very productive. He played with two first-rounders. We were talking and stuff and what he brings to the table is competition.Just competition and put him in the best position to be on the field, make the younger guys better and he can learn from me and the other guys and bring depth to the receiver position.”Transcription via Inside the U"

Miami has been one of the leading teams through the transfer portal. K.J. Osborn transferred to Miami from Buffalo for the 2019 season and led the Hurricanes in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns. Rambo is a different type of receiver, but he can have a similar impact for Miami in 2021.

D’Eriq King transformed the Miami offense after transferring from Houston in 2020. Manny Diaz and his staff have done a good job identifying players in the transfer portal and how they will help Miami. Rambo adds another experience WR to the Miami roster and should help elevate the Miami passing game.
