The Miami football program is expected to be named one of the five finalists for four-star cornerback Khamauri Rogers on Saturday. Rogers posted earlier this week that he is announcing his top five Saturday. Miami was one of the top 10 that Rogers announced earlier this month. Four schools are listed as the leader for Rogers.

In addition to Miami; Mississippi, Mississipi State and Notre Dame are the four schools that Rogers is considering the strongest according to 247Sports.Com. Rogers is from Lexington, Mississippi and the 65th ranked player, seventh-ranked CB and the top-rated player in Mississippi in the Class of 2022.

Four-star quarterback Jacurri Brown who might be the most important player Miami signs in the Class of 2022, is the only player committed to Hurricanes for next year. The Hurricanes have lost defensive linemen Brandon Cleveland and Jamaal Johnson. Rogers would be a big addition to the 2022 Miami recruiting class.

Miami currently holds one of the seven crystal balls for Rogers on 247. Mississippi holds four and LSU the other two. The one crystal ball that projects Rogers to sign with Miami is from the 247 Mississippi State writer. Four other four-star CBs are also strongly considering Miami in the Class of 2022.

Trequon Fegans has Georgia, Miami and South Carolina as the leaders to receive a commitment for the Oxford, Alabama resident according to 247. Earl Little is a Miami legacy whose list is topped by Alabama, Florida, the Hurricanes and LSU. Trevell Mullen of Coconut Creek is topped by five schools.

Miami leads with Indiana, Penn State, Syracuse and West Virginia according to 247. Manny Diaz and his staff are taking a more deliberate approach to the 2022 recruiting class. Two de-commits are minimal for Miami in comparison to the past few classes. Miami re-signed most of its de-commits in the 2021 Class.

Rogers reportedly has the Miami football program in his top two or three ahead of announcing his five finalists on Saturday and eventual commitment. There has been no information about when Rogers could make a decision on where he is going to attend college or when that announcement could be made.
