The Miami football program needs to upgrade their linebacking corps after receiving subpar play during the 2020 season. Miami is recruiting several LBs from South Florida in the Class of 2022. Earlier this week, three-star LB Omar Graham named Miami as one of seven finalists he is considering for college.
That number was augmented when he added Florida as one of the schools he is considering with a Tweet later in the week. Graham is the 569th player, 36th ranked outside LB and 76th ranked player in Florida in the Class of 2022. The other six finalists for Graham are Auburn, UCF, Florida State, Michigan, Penn State and Oregon.
All but Florida and Oregon of the schools Graham announced as finalists are the current favorites according to 247Sports.Com. There are currently no crystal balls for Graham. Graham is one of 18 OLBs Miami has offered a scholarship to in the Class of 2022. The Hurricanes have also offered five ILBs for the next signing class.
Miami could return its entire LB corps for 2022 without a senior on the roster. Bradley Jennings Jr. led Hurricanes LBs with 39 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss and three sacks in 2020. Jennings will likely resume starting at one LB in 2021. Sam Brooks and Avery Huff are the main candidates to start at the other LB this fall.

Corey Flagg is a LB that has showed a lot of promise for the Miami football program as a freshman in 2020 and is likely to challenge for more snaps in 2021. Tirek Austin-Cave signed with Flagg in the Class of 2020 and veteran Waynmon Steed adds depth. Graham had 38 tackles, 11 TFLs and 11 quarterback hurries as a junior in 2020.
Graham has posted updates mentioning Rutgers and Florida on Twitter since he initially released his list of finalists on April 3. Graham has also been retweeting other Miami prospects in the Class of 247 including four-star CB and Hurricanes legacy Earl Little Jr. Graham has official visits to Michigan and Penn State set up for June.
