Four-star 2022 offensive tackle prospects Malik Agbo told 247Sports in an article posted on Friday that the ability for him to get to the NFL playing for the Miami Hurricanes is a reason he has them in his top 12. Agbo is the 268th ranked player, the 30th ranked OT and sixth-ranked player in the State of Washington for 2022.

Agbo named 12 finalists on Friday via Twitter. In addition to Miami, Agbo is also considering Alabama, Arizona State, Florida, LSU, Michigan, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, USC and Washington. Agbo is highest on Alabama, LSU, Miami, Oregon and Washington are the favorites per 247 of the finalists.

Also on the list of the schools that Agbo was highest on according to Agbo’s 247 Sports profile was Oregon State who he did not name as a finalist on Friday. Last week Agbo announced he will be taking his official visit to Coral Gables on June 4. Agbo has a visit scheduled for LSU a week later.

June will be a big month for Miami for official visits with the dead period lifted. No recruits have been able to take official visits since the NCAA issued a dead period for official visits in March 2020 because of COVID-19. The dead period is expected to be lifted on June 1.  Miami will have a young offensive line in 2022.

"”Even though Miami is across the country, they make me feel welcomed, along with getting a good education and having a great degree by the time of my junior year or senior year and get to the NFL.”"

Miami has not developed OL recently so the faith that Agbo has in the Hurricanes staff and Garin Justice who would be his position coach is important. Danny Isidora is the last Miami OL drafted. Isidora was selected 180th overall in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings.

Seventh-year right tackle Jarrid Williams is the only player Miami is guaranteed to lose on the OL following the 2021 season. Guard Navauhn Donaldson and redshirt junior center Corey Gaynor are entering their fifth seasons in 2021 and could leave for the NFL Draft. Sophomore Zion Nelson could also enter the NFL Draft.

Next. Miami Football future schedule could include Central Florida. dark

Nelson is entering his third season and the most likely of the other draft-eligible players on the Miami Hurricanes roster who could decide to enter the 2022 NFL Draft. Miami has to do a better job developing OL. Agbo is 6’5.5, 320 pounds and has the perfect length that Miami prefers with the size to match on the OL.
