After playing their second spring scrimmage at Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday the Miami football team will return there on Saturday for their spring game. Playing at Hard Rock Stadium provides the young players on the Miami roster a chance to experience playing in their home stadium. That should lessen the nerves this fall.

The Spring Game will air on the ACC Network with an 11 AM ET kickoff. Only invited guests will be able to attend, but Miami fans who cannot be at Hard Rock Stadium will have a chance to watch the game on TV for the first time since 2018. Some of the Miami players have been battling injuries according to head coach Manny Diaz.

Diaz also discussed the plan to introduce some different things schematically on Saturday. The Hurricanes head coach is hopeful that Saturday is the last time that Miami will play a game, even if it’s simulated, without a full stadium of Miami football fans. With 19 starters returning in 2021, the season should be an exciting one.

The focus of the spring game on Saturday will be the play by Miami quarterbacks, 2021 signee Jake Garcia, redshirt freshman Peyton Matocha and freshman Tyler Van Dyke are getting extra snaps this spring with starter and ming rhymer D’Eriq King recovering from a torn ACL. Garcia and Van Dyke have been impressive this spring.

"“We’re obviously looking forward to coming back here on Saturday with the game that’s on ACC Network for all of our fans to see. We wish we could have our fans here in the stadium, it’s just, hopefully, the last reality of the pandemic. But we will be here. We’ve got to get healthy. We’ve got a couple guys nicked up.Get our team healthy and maybe look at a couple different schematic things this last week that will help us out in the fall and then come out here for a great spring game on Saturday.”"

Miami will be one of two spring games aired by the ACC Network on Saturday. The Pittsburgh Spring Game will air immediately following the Miami football game with a 1 PM ET kickoff scheduled. The doubleheader will provide Miami fans the opportunity to watch the Panthers, an ACC Coastal Division rival.
