The Miami football program received a commitment from former UNLV offensive lineman Justice Oluwaseun on Saturday. Oluwaseun transfers to Miami after spending four seasons in the UNLV program with two years of eligibility remaining. After redshirting as a true freshman in 2017, Oluwaseun became a starter in 2018.

The Miami football program has continued to build needed depth over the last year. Right tackle Jarrid Williams joined the Hurricanes as a transfer from Houston in 2020. Jalen Rivers and Issiah Walker who were 2020 signees are expected to compete for playing time in 2021. Walker joined Miami after initially signing with Florida.

Oluwaseun is originally from Richmond, Texas outside of Houston. Williams is one of many Miami players from the Houston area. Quarterbacks D’Eriq King and Peyton Matocha and linebackers Corey Flagg and Ryan Ragone are also on the Hurricanes roster from Houston. That should help Olusaweun acclimate to Coral Gables.

Olusaweun has 21 starts on the OL over the past three seasons. According to the UNLV website, Olusaweun had one start at right tackle and the final three games of his redshirt freshman season in 2018 at left tackle. As a redshirt sophomore in 2019, Olusaweun started five games each at RT and LT and one at left guard.

Pro Football Focus via David Lake at Inside the U recorded that Olusaweun played 541 snaps at LT and 870 at RT. Olusaweun will join the Miami football roster to add depth. The Hurricanes are expected to be without LG Jakai Clark to begin the season after shoulder surgery. Olusaweun adds critical versatility.

Olusaweun will be reunited at Miami with OL coach Garin Justice. Justice coached Oluwaseun at UNLV in 2018 and 2019 as the OL coach and offensive coordinator before he left for Miami beginning with last season. Miami gains a 2020 top 20 OT as graded by PFF. The Hurricanes OL has vastly improved the last two seasons.
