Explosive three-star wide receiver Quan Lee committed to the Miami football program on Wednesday. Lee is the second committed player to the 2022 Hurricanes class. Four-star quarterback Jacurri Brown committed in March. Lee chose Miami over Coastal Carolina, Nebraska, UCF and West Virginia.

Lee is the 672nd ranked player, 87th ranked WR and 88th ranked player in Florida in the Class of 2022. According to his 247 Sports timeline, Lee is still planning on taking his official visits. Lee has visits lined up to West Virginia June 4, Miami June 11, UCF June 18 and Coastal Carolina June 25. Those visits go against past Miami policy.

Since becoming head coach in December 2018, Manny Diaz has not allowed players to commit to Miami and take visits elsewhere. Diaz has told recruits in the past that their scholarships would not be held if they take visits to other schools. It appears that the policy of not visiting other programs after committing is on hold.

Recruiting has drastically changed in the last 14 months. Prospects have not been allowed to take official visits to schools or have in-person contact with college football staffs since March 2020 because of COVID-19. Official visits will re-commence on June 1. The Miami football program will hold a cookout that night.

Lee is an explosive WR. Miami is likely to lose Oklahoma transfer, Charleston Rambo, after the 2021 season. Rambo is expected to provide Miami with a deep threat in its passing game they lacked last season. Lee could be the next explosive WR for Miami in the Rhett Lashlee offense.

Lee has 79 receptions for 1,791 yards, a 22.7 yard average and 17 touchdowns during his high school career. Lee has also produced 17 kickoff returns for 464 yards and one TD and added one punt return for 45 yards according to MaxPreps. Miami adds more speed with Lee who was clocked running 11.16 100 meters in March.

The 2022 Miami class moves up to 60th with the addition of Lee. Only Stanford and Mississippi are ranked higher than Miami in the Class of 2022 with two commits. Those numbers and the Miami ranking should move up higher in the next month with dozens of visits scheduled during June.
