Following their successful cookout on Tuesday night on the first day that recruits were able to take official visits in over 14 months, the Miami football program will host several prospects this weekend who have the Hurricanes high on their list. Miami hosted a couple dozen players at the cookout on Tuesday night.

The list of players who are strongly considering Miami who will be making visits this weekend is not conslusive. Five of the seven players listed as warm on their 247 profiles who are visiting Miami this weekend are three-star players. Four-star OT Malik Agbo and CB Trequon Fegans are the sole blue visitors.

The next few weeks is critical for Miami. Gaining commitements from blue chip (four and five-star players) in the next month could set the foundation for the Hurricanes 2022 signees. Four-star quarterback Jacurri Brown and three-star wide receiver Quan Lee who committed last week are the only 2022 Miami commits.

The Hurricanes built recruiting momentum with an 8-3 2020 season and signing the 11th ranked recruiting Class in 2021. Keeping the recruiting momentum going is important for the Miami football program. Brown is likely to be a key figure in helping Miami sign another top 15 recruiting class.

Most of the prospects visiting Miami over the next month have visits set up at other schools. Commitments are likely to start en masse in July, if then. July 1 begins another dead period in recruiting. If Miami can make in roads with prospects by getting them on campus in Coral Gables, the next month can be productive.
