Four-star offensive tackle Malik Agbo who began his visit with the Miami football program on Friday tweeted “Man I love Miami.” with the Hurricanes hand gesture followed by an orange and green heart, the laughing emoji and tagging the Canes Football Twitter account. Miami is the first of three scheduled June visits.
Agbo will visit LSU on June 11 and Oklahoma on June 18. Agbo is the 270th ranked player, the 29th ranked OT and the sixth-ranked player in Washington in the Class of 2022 via the 247 Sports composite rankings. The only 247 crystal ball for Agbo projects him to commit to LSU. That could be changing with the Miami tweet.
The Federal Way, Washington, Todd Beamer High School prospect listed 12 finalists via Twitter on April 9. Alabama, LSU, Oregon, Oregon State, Oklahoma and Washington are the programs Miami is competing with the strongest to receive a commitment from Agbo according to his 247 profile.
Agbo would be a huge addition to the 2022 Miami recruiting class. The Hurricanes already have commitments from four-star quarterback Jacurri Brown and three-star wide receiver Quan Lee for next year. This month is critical throughout college football with recruits taking visits for the first time in 18 months this past Tuesday.
Agbo is ranked 11th out of the 26 OTs that Miami has offered scholarships to in the Class of 2022. Five 2022 OTs are listed as warm or strongly considering Miami. Julian Armella from Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas is the only OT strongly considering Miami ranked ahead of Agbo.
Selling the Miami football program and getting Agbo to enroll over 3,300 miles away from home will be a challenge for the Hurricanes staff. Miami has often had a pipeline to California, but Washington is another 1,000 miles away from home for a young football player.
