Miami football trending for three-star athlete Chris Graves
The Miami football program is trending for three-star athlete Chris Graves. Like his former Fort Myers Bishop Verot teammate, 2021 Miami signee Malik Curtis, Graves is projected to be a cornerback by the Hurricanes. Two crystal balls from 247 Sports joined the two that already projected Graves to Miami.
Graves is the 374th player, 26th ranked athlete and 46th ranked player in Florida in the Class of 2022. Andrew Ivins and Gaby Urrutia logged crystal balls for Graves this weekend. David Lake and J.C. Shurburt posted their crystal balls of Graves to the Miami football program last month. Miami currently has two 2022 commits.
Defensive backs coach Travaris Robinson and cornerbacks coach DeMarcus Van Dyke have been leading the recruitment for Graves. Graves would be the third commit and first on defense for the Miami Class of 2022. Four-star quarterback Jacurri Brown and three-star wide receiver Quan Lee are the two current commits.
Miami might need to stock up on CBs after the 2021 season. Four Miami CBs are eligible for the 2022 NFL Draft. Tyrique Stevenson is likely to leave for the NFL Draft after one season at Miami. Al Blades Jr., Te’Cory Couch and D.J. Ivey are eligible for the 2022 NFL Draft. Marcus Clark and Isaiah Dunson are entering their second seasons.
Graves is a multi-dimensional player for Bishop Verot. As a junior, Graves had 27 receptions for 500 yards and four touchdowns, 26 tackles, one interception and 122 punt return yards. At 6’1, 175 pounds, Graves has the length that the Miami coaching staff prefers but would have to continue filling out his body.
LSU and South Carolina are the other programs Graves is strongly considering. Graves visited Miami for the cookout on Tuesday and took his official visit to Coral Gables this weekend. Visits to Baton Rouge on June 18 and Columbia, South Carolina on June 25 await for Graves. Graves has frequently given Miami love on social media.
