After de-committing from Georgia on Monday, five-star defensive tackle Bear Alexander announced he is visiting the Miami football program this weekend. The Hurricanes can build a special defensive line for the future after signing five-star DT Leonard Taylor in 2021 and the potential of Alexander and Shemar Stewart.
Stewart is a five-star defensive end who gained a pair of crystal balls from 247 Sports on Monday. A DL of Alexander, Stewart and Taylor would have the potential to be dominant. Alexander is the 26th ranked player in 2022, the seventh-ranked DT and the seventh-ranked player in Texas out of Fort Worth Brewer.
Added to Stewart who is seventh-ranked overall, second at DT and first in Florida and the 2022 Miami Class would quickly move up the rankings. Commitments from Alexander and Stewart would vault the Miami football program from 60th currently to 28th in the 2022 rankings. That is merely projections at this point.
This is projected to be the biggest weekend of visits during a critical June. Offensive linemen Leyton Nelson and Cameron Williams, safety Ja’Corey Thomas, tight end Kaden Helms, wide receivers, Isaiah Bond, Jayden Gibson, Quan Lee and Jacolby Spells, linebacker Justin Medlock, and QB Jacurri Brown will be in Miami this weekend.
After the Georgia de-commitment on Monday, one crystal ball was logged for Alexander from the 247 Texas A&M site. Alexander visited the Aggies this weekend and will visit with USC on June 18. The Miami class should start coming together over the next few weeks. Recruiting will have another dead period beginning on July 1.
Miami has offers to 30 DL in 2022. Six of those DL are strongly considering Miami. Alexander is not one of those six, but the Hurricanes are thought to be in the mix for the 6’3, 325 pound DT. Landing the combination of Alexander and Stewart would be immense for the Hurricanes 2022 class.
