Top Miami football prospects defensive end Shemar Stewart and safety Kamari Wilson were two of the “Top Performers: Under Armour All-America Future 50 Camp.” Stewart picked up a pair of crystal balls for Miami from 247 Sports this week. Wilson has Miami as one of six programs he is strongly considering per 247.

Stewart and Wilson were two of the top 50 players in the Classes of 2022 and 2023 participating in the Under Armour All-American Future 50 Camp at IMG Academy in Bradenton this weekend. The camp was moved from the spring because of COVID restrictions that have since been eased in Florida.

Wilson was named one of the top six players on defense at the Under Armour Camp. Stewart was one of 12 players mentioned in notes around the camp. Wilson had the advantage of participating in the camp on his home field as an attendee of IMG. Stewart made the trek a few hours north of Opa Locka.

Wilson is the 24th ranked player nationally, top-ranked safety and fifth-ranked in Florida in the Class of 2022 per the 247 composite rankings. Stewart is seventh overall, the third-ranked defensive lineman and second-ranked in Florida. The Miami football program is trying to sign  to five-star players for the second straight season.

"Kamari Wilson, DB, Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy (2022) – Wilson was probably the best safety overall for us on the morning, and also won the Best DB by the UA staff from that session. He breaks on the ball extremely well and had an interception too. Wilson has optimal size too for his spot."

Wilson is listed a 6’1, 195 pounds on his 247 sports profile. The Hurricanes are deep at safety for at least the next two seasons. Avantae Williams was the second-ranked safety in the Class of 2020 and James Williams was the top-ranked safety in the Class of 2021. Wilson might be concerned about playing time with Miami.

"-Opa Locka (Fla.) Monsignor Pace defensive lineman Shemar Stewart was at the camp but didn’t work out after working out at the Ohio State camp this week."

Stewart is a top recruit for Miami in 2022. The ability to add Stewart to a defensive line that signed 2022 five-star defensive tackle Leonard Taylor is intriguing for the Hurricanes. Manny Diaz and the Miami football staff have done an excellent job adding talent to the Miami roster. The Hurricanes signed the 11th ranked Class in 2021.

Stewart took unofficial visits to Miami on June 1 and 2 for the Hurricanes cookouts. Wilson took an unofficial visit to Miami on Wednesday. Miami currently have four-star quarterback Jacurri Brown and three-star wide receiver Quan Lee committed for 2022. Miami is expected to receive more commits in the next few weeks.
