Miami football outlook on 2022 WRs after 3-star Landon Ibieta commitment
The commitment from three-star wide receiver Landon Ibieta on Sunday was the second at the position for the Miami football program for 2022. Three-star WR Quan Lee committed to the Hurricanes earlier this spring. Miami still has several prospects at WR they are pursuing in the Class of 2022.
Miami has hosted five WRs this month including Ibieta and Lee. Four-stars WRs Jayden Gibson, Isaiah Horton and Isaiah Bond took official visits to Coral Gables the weekend of June 11 with Lee. Ibieta took his official visit this month. No WRs are scheduled to visit this coming weekend before a dead period begins on July 1.
Nashville prospect Horton is strongly considering Alabama, Florida and Tennessee in addition to Miami. No crystal balls are currently projected for Horton. His visit to Miami the weekend of June 11, is the only official visit Horton has taken. Horton took an unofficial visit to Florida on June 1. No other visits are scheduled.
Gibson would provide Miami with exceptional length at 6’4, 185 pounds. The Winter Garden West Orange star is strongly considering Baylor, Florida, South Carolina and Tennessee in addition to Miami. Two of the three crystal balls including 247 Sports national recruiting analyst Bud Elliott project Gibson to commit to Florida.
Gibson has taken official visits to the Baylor and Miami football programs this month and is scheduled to take a trip to Tennessee beginning on Friday. Gibson has also taken unofficial visits to Florida, UCF and South Carolina this month. Gaining a commitment from Gibson would be a good complement to Lee and Ibieta.
Bond is committed to Florida after Miami was initially the favorite. Despite his May commitment, Bond has taken official visits to Alabama and Miami this month in addition to Florida. Bond will visit Tennessee this weekend. Bond is a versatile player who plays offense and defense for Buford, Georgia High School.

Miami has offered 41 WRs in the Class of 2022. Samuel Mbake and Tahj Sanders are two other WRs to watch who list the Hurricanes among the schools they are strongly considering. Depending on who returns at WR for Miami in 2022, the Hurricanes could look to the transfer portal again to add experience.
