Miami football could have package deal with Homestead defensive lineman
The homestead pair of defensive linemen Dante Anderson and Daniel Lyons could be a package deal on which program they decide to commit to. Four-star cornerback Khamauri Rogers is currently the only defensive player committed to the Miami football program in the 2022 recruiting class.
Anderson and Lyons would be big additions to a DL that could be in transition after the 2022 season. Miami will lose defensive ends DeAndre Johnson and Zach McCloud and could lose as many as four defensive tackles to the 2022 NFL Draft. Anderson and Lyons will attend Miami’s paradise camp this weekend.
Anderson is the 233rd ranked player, 10th ranked edge rusher and 26th ranked player in Florida in the Class of 2022. One crystal ball projects Anderson to Miami. Miami has stacked edge rushers in the last two classes. Despite the departures of Johnson and McCloud following the 2021 season, Miami will remain deep with pass rushers.
Lyons is the 390th ranked player, 54th ranked DL and 54th in Florida for 2022. Florida, Florida State and Mississippi are the schools that Lyons is considering the strongest. Anderson and Lyons have taken unofficial visits this month with Florida, Florida State and Miami. Anderson also took an official visit with Georgia Tech.
Georgia Tech, Florida, Florida State and Mississippi top Anderson’s list with Miami. This will be a big weekend for the Miami football program. Six visitors are listed by 247 Sports for this weekend but expect that number to be bigger. Paradise Camp will take place this weekend after being canceled last year because of COVID.
Four-star DL Zane Durant is the only other player upfront visiting Miami according to 247. More prospects should definitely be expected. Miami has offered 12 2022 edge rushers and 31 DL according to 247. Five-star DL Shemar Stewart will reportedly be in Coral Gables this weekend and is a player to watch for Miami in 2022.
