Miami football will have six official visitors at Paradise Camp
The Miami football program will have six official visitors this weekend among the Paradise Camp attendees. Defensive lineman Zane Durant, offensive tackles Jacob Hood and Daughtry Richardson, linebackers Devon Jackson and Demario Tolan and tight end/wide receiver Jaleel Skinner will all be in Coral Gables this weekend.
Miami currently has commitments from quarterback Jacurri Brown, wide receivers Landon Ibieta and Quan Lee and cornerback Khamauri Rogers. All six of the official visitors this weekend are strongly considering Miami. Unlike last weekend none are committed to other schools. All but Durant are taking their first visits to Miami.
Durant was in Coral Gables on June 1 for the cookout held by the Miami football program for an unofficial visit. All but Jackson according to their 247 Sports profiles have previously taken official visits to other schools. Durant, Jackson, Skinner and Tolan are four-star prospects, Richardson and Hood, three-stars.
Tolan is the highest-ranked of the three prospects who will be in Coral Gables this weekend. The Orlando Dr. Phillips star is the 257th ranked player, 27th ranked LB and 29th in Florida for 2022. Auburn, Florida, LSU and Tennessee are the main competition for Miami to receive a commitment from Tolan.
Jackson is the 161st ranked player, 18th ranked LB and second-ranked player in Nebraska out of Omaha Burke. Arizona State and Oklahoma are the main competition for Jackson according to his 247 Sports profile. Four crystal balls logged for Jackson in April project him to commit to the Sun Devils. ASU is facing the possibility of sanctions.
Hood is the 431st ranked player, 41st OT and 15th in Tennessee out of Nashville Hillsboro. Auburn, Georgia, Mississippi and Mississippi State are the other schools Hood is strongly considering. No crystal balls are projected for Hood. Hood has previously taken official visits to Auburn and Georgia.
Skinner is the 78th ranked player, top-ranked TE, and third-ranked player in South Carolina out of Greer. Skinner has crystal balls to Clemson, Florida and Florida State. The most recent projections are to the Seminoles. Skinner has taken official visits to Indiana and Penn State and was at the June 1 Miami cookout.
Richardson is the 465th ranked player, 44th ranked OT and 66th in Florida from Miami Central. The Hurricanes would be losing out on a local player as four projections are all trending to the Seminoles. Richardson has also taken official visits to Arizona State, Florida State and Kentucky this month.
With another dead period beginning July 1, the beginning of next month could net Miami a few more commits. Manny Diaz and his staff have taken a more deliberate approach in recruiting this year. After Ibieta and Rogers committed last weekend, this could be a productive weekend for the Miami football program.
