Four-star athlete Chris Graves was the first commit of July for the Miami football program on Friday. Three more prospects strongly considering the Hurricanes have commitment dates remaining in July. Tight end Kaden Helms, offensive tackle Daughtry Richardon and cornerback Nick Cull are commiting later this month.

Helms is up first with a scheduled commitment date of July 17. All five crystal balls for Helms from 247Sports.Com project him to commit to Oklahoma. That includes from 247 Director of Football Recruiting Steve Wiltfong. Earlier this week Helms stated he wants to play for a school where he can make his own name at TE.

That does not bode well for Miami with one of the best group of TEs in their history. Helms is the 384th ranked player, 15th ranked TE and third in Nebraska in the Class of 2022. Miami is going strong after another player from Omaha in the Class of 2022, linebacker Devon Jackson. Miami is battling Arizona State for Jackson.

Richardson is the 461st ranked player, 44th ranked OT and 67th in Florida in the Class of 2022. The four crystal balls for Richardson are trending to Florida State. That includes one from national expert Bud Elliott. Richardson is rated as three-stars and plays for Miami Central. Miami does not have an OL commited for 2022.

Cull will commit on July 30. The Donalsonville, Georgia product has five crystal balls trending to the Miami football program. Cull would be the third CB commited to Miami in 2022 after four-stars Khamauri Rogers and Graves. Cull is the 370th ranked player, 34th ranked CB and 35th in Florida in the Class of 2022.

New defensive backs coach Travaris Robinson and CBs coach DeMarcus VanDyke who was promoted during the offseason from the Miami recruiting staff are making an immediate impact in recruiting. The addition of Tyrique Stevenson as a transfer from Georgia during the offseason should help elevate the Miami secondary.

The commitments from Graves and Rogers and likely addition of Cull project a bright future for Miami at CB. Rogers is potentially the highest ranked CB to sign with Miami since Tracy Howard in 2012. Rogers is the ninth ranked CB nationally for 2022. Graves is listed as an athlete but projected to play CB for Miami.
