According to the 247 Sports database, five uncommitted tight ends remain on the Miami Hurricanes board following four-star Kaden Helms committing to Oklahoma. Miami was in the running for the Omaha prospect, but Helms was a unanimous projection to the Sooners before announcing his commitment Saturday.

Helms and four-star prospect Jaleel Skinner from South Carolina are the only players listed as TEs that had official visits with the Miami Hurricanes in June. Skinner is the highest-rated TE on the Miami 247 board. The Greer, South Carolina star is the 75th ranked player, top-ranked TE and third in the Palmetto state for 2022.

Oscar Delp from Cumming, Georgia, Keyan Burnett from Anaheim, California, Mason Taylor from St. Thomas Aquinas and Trent McGaughey from Jersey City, New Jersey are the uncommitted TEs that the Miami Hurricanes have offered scholarships to. Skinner is the only one who is strongly considering Miami according to 247.

Skinner has Alabama, Clemson, Florida State and Texas as the schools he is highly considering. Florida State holds nine of the 10 crystal balls projected for Skinner. The Seminoles hold the last night projections for a commitment from Skinner with two coming on Wednesday. The Miami Hurricanes face tough competition for Skinner.

Miami signed four-star TE Elijah Arroyo and three-star Khalil Brantley in 2021. Starting TE Will Mallory seems likely to leave for the NFL following the 2022 season after his fourth year with Miami. Larry Hodges and Dominick Mammarelli have eligibility remaining beyond the 2021 Miami Hurricanes season.

If Mallory leaves but Arroyo, Brantley, Hodges and Mammarelli return for the 2022 season, Miami should have enough depth at TE. With more than five months remaining until Early National Signing Day a lot can change. After Mallory departs, Arroyo projects to carry on the Miami Hurricanes legacy of TE U.
