Miami football trending for 3-star LB before Friday commitment
The Miami football program is trending for three-star linebacker Justin Medlock ahead of his 1 PM ET commitment announcement on Friday. Miami currently has five players committed to the 2022 Class. The Hurricanes received their fourth commitment on Wednesday from three-star offensive tackle Falentha Carswell.
Medlock is the 451st ranked player, 48th LB and 62nd in Texas in the Class of 2022. Medlock attends Manvel High School in Houston. Miami quarterback D’Eriq King is a Manvel alum. Three of the five crystal balls on 247 Sports project Medlock to sign with Miami. All of the projections for Medlock to Miami have been since July 18.
Medlock posted on Thursday night that he will “See y’all tmr at noon” That is central time. Oklahoma was originally trending for Medlock. The Sooners still have one crystal ball projecting Medlock will commit to them, but that was logged in March. Medlock would be the third commit to the Miami defense for 2022.
Four-star cornerbacks Chris Graves and Khamauri Rogers committed to the Miami football program earlier this year. Miami also holds commitments from four-star quarterback Jacurri Brown and three-star WR Landon Ibieta in addition to Carswell. The 2022 Miami class currently ranks 75th nationally.

Miami offered 24 LBs in the class of 2022. Twelve of the LBs Miami offered are uncommitted. Five of the 12 uncommitted LBs including Medlock are strongly considering Miami. Four-stars Devon Jackson from Omaha and Wesley Bissainthe from Miami Central are two other LBs to watch for Miami in 2022.
Medlock took an official visit with Miami in June. That was the only official visit Medlock used out of the five allowed. Miami is in a good position as Medlock makes his announcement on Friday. The Hurricanes would move up 13 positions to 62nd in the 2022 class rankings with a commitment from Medlock.

More commitments are expected to occur for Miami in the next few weeks. Offensive tackle Daughtry Richardson is another player strongly considering Miami who is committing on Friday. Richardson is unanimously projected to Florida State by 247 Sports experts.
