Miami Hurricanes most important Offensive lineman Corey Gaynor

A case could be made for Nelson or Gaynor as the Hurricanes’ most important OL. Entering his third season as the starting center, Gaynor is invaluable to the Miami OL. Behind Gaynor is Jakai Clark. Clark made 21 starts at guard in his first two college seasons but was signed as a center in 2019.

Gaynor enters the 2021 season in his fifth year in the Miami football program. Gaynor has made 24 starts at center the last two seasons. Miami has the most experienced OL returning in the history of college football. The Hurricanes returning OL have 190 career starts. Overall, Miami has 10 starters returning on offense.

Also returning for Miami up front are starters D.J. Scaife and Jarrod Williams who will compete at right tackle and Navaughn Donaldson who is projected to start at right guard. Scaife started all 11 games at RG in 2020 and 12 at RT in 2019. Scaife also started seven games as a true freshman in 2018.

In addition to having an experienced OL, Miami has versatility up front. Entering his fourth season with Miami, John Campbell is another player who provides versatility. Jalen Rivers will compete to be the starting LG for Miami in 2020. The experience and leadership that Gaynor brings is critical to the Miami OL.
