The Miami football program is the co-leader with Georgia for five-star cornerback Jaheim Singletary following his de-commitment from Ohio State on Sunday. Miami and Georgia are listed as warm or the programs the Singletary is strongly considering. Singletary took an unofficial visit to Coral Gables this weekend.

In addition to his visit with the Miami football program this past weekend, Singletary also took his official visit to Georgia the weekend of June 18. Miami CB Tyrique Stevenson transferred from Georgia during the offseason and can provide him some insight on both programs. Singletary had committed to Ohio State on January 2.

If Miami is able to sign Singletary they would arguably have the best group of CBs in the Class of 2022. Miami already has commitments from 2022 four-star CBs Chris Graves, Trequon Fegans and Khamauri Rogers. Miami only has eight commitments in 2022 but is potentially putting together another top 15 class.

Singletary is the 14th best player, fifth-best CB and third in Florida in the Class of 2022. Rogers is the 10th ranked CB and Fegans 11th in the 247 Sports composite rankings. If Miami can sign Fegans, Rogers and Singletary that would give Miami an astounding three of the top 11 CBs in the 2022 Class.

In 28 games for Lee H.S. in Jacksonville from 2018-2020, Singletary has 92 tackles, 20 pass breakups and 10 interceptions. Singletary added 503 all-purpose yards and five TDs. Singletary could potentially give Miami five-star recruits in consecutive classes. Miami signed safety James Williams and DT Leonard Taylor in 2021.

Miami has not signed five-star players in back-to-back classes since 2012. The Hurricanes signed running back Duke Johnson and cornerback Tracy Howard in 2012. Five-star defensive end Anthony Chickillo signed with Miami in 2011. A commitment from Singletary would allow Miami to duplicate the 2011 and 2012 classes.

Next. Miami can sign five-star in back to back years for first time since 2012. dark

In addition to Singletary, Miami leads for five-star DE Shemar Stewart. The patience that the Miami coaching staff is taking in recruiting could eventually pay dividends. Manny Diaz has stated this summer that he’s is not concerned about the small number of commits compared to other programs. Recruiting is not won in the summer.
