Before naming a top seven of Alabama, LSU, Miami, Notre Dame, Oregon, Texas A&M and USC four-star Scottsdale Chapparal defensive tackle Anthony Lucas took all five of his allotted official visits. Lucas took official visits with Alabama, Miami, Notre Dame, Oregon and Texas A&M. Lucas visited the Miami football program on June 18.

Lucas previously released a top 10 on April 7. Florida State, Georgia, Michigan and UCLA did not make the cut from the April list. The Miami football program made the top seven for Lucas after initially not making his top 10. Steve Wiltfong of 247 Sports reported that Lucas took an undated unofficial visit to LSU.

The 247 timeline for Lucas also lists the 15th ranked defensive lineman for 2022 as taking an unofficial visit to Florida State the weekend of June 22. Wiltfong reported that Lucas plans to take visit Alabama, LSU and Miami for games this fall and make a decision in November or December where he intends to sign.

Lucas is the 84th ranked player in the Class of 2022 and top-ranked prospect in Arizona. Miami might have a connection with Lucas’ father a Hurricanes alum. Miami has excelled receiving commits with three CBs and has one at linebacker but has yet to secure a commitment from a DL in 2022.

Wiltfong praised the combination of size and athleticism that Lucas will provide at the next level. Lucas has a nearly 85-inch wingspan and 11.5-inch hands according to Wiltfong. Miami signed five-star DT Leonard Taylor in the Class of 2021 as head coach Manny Diaz and the Miami staff try to build an imposing defensive line.
