June 11 weekend visits produced three 2022 commitments for the Miami football program. Including four-star quarterback Jacurri Brown, four of the nine 2022 Miami commits visited the weekend of June 11. Linebacker Justin Medlock, offensive tackle Falentha Carswell and wide receiver Isaiah Horton are the other three.

Brown took his official visit to Miami the weekend of June 11 but committed to the Hurricanes in March. The 2022 Miami recruiting class has four commits on offense and five on defense. Brown is the highest-rated Miami commit on offense for 2022.  Horton is one of two WRs committed to Miami for 2022.

Horton is a four-stars who is the 246th ranked player, 39th ranked WR and eighth-ranked WR in the Class of 2022. Miami also has a commitment from three-star Landon Ibieta who is 676th, 94th and 34th. Ibieta took his official visit with the Miami football program the weekend of June 18 and committed June 20.

Horton committed to Miami on July 28. Miami could have to replace several WRs after the 2021 season. Horton provides excellent length at 6’3 190 pounds. Ibieta is projected as slot WR at 5’11, 185. Miami is not likely finished recruiting WRs. Expect at least one or two more WRs in the Class of 2022.

Carswell is 6’7, 285 pounds. Prior to committing to Miami, Carswell had primarily been a basketball player. Miami third-year defensive tackle Jared Harrison-Hunte also played basketball in high school. Harrison-Hunte had a breakout season in 2020. The athleticism from basketball translates well on the lines.

Justin Medlock comes to Miami from Manvel High School in Houston. Miami quarterback D’Eriq King is a Manvel alum. Medlock had 117 tackles, four sacks and 3.5 tackles for loss as a sophomore in 2019. Medlock had 21 tackles, five TFLs and two sacks in three games in 2020 before a knee injury ended his season.

The Miami recruiting class is steadily building. Four-star WR Jayden Gibson who also took his official visit to Miami the weekend of June 11 is strongly considering the Hurricanes. Gibson is one of three uncommitted players who visited Miami June 11. Defensive end Bear Alexander and WR Quan Lee were also in Miami that weekend.

Alexander is leading towards Alabama and Texas A&M. Lee was previously committed to Miami. Miami and Lee parted ways on June 28. Central Florida is currently trending for a commitment from Lee per 247 Sports. Lee’s de-commitment was reportedly because he was looking at other schools while committed to Miami.
